Technical advice on destination

When you buy your olive trees at Olive Tree Hunters, you will benefit from our professional advice from the moment you buy them until they are planted at their destination.

Our monitoring starts at the nursery, ensuring that all the plants are inspected to get the phytosanitary passport. We supervise the delivery and reception of the trees, and also the recovery of the plant at their destination.

In some countries (i.e. Japan, China, South Korea), olive trees can only be imported if they arrive without soil and leaves. We are used to it and we prepare the trees in the required conditions. In this cases, when the trees arrive at their new country, they go through the following phases:

• Recovery: Olive trees will arrive with some small sprouts and we must stimulate them with water and fertilizer. If desired, we can provide you with highly effective bio-stimulant products.
• Adaptation: during the first irrigations, the olive trees will remain in a pot or mesh, and we will also make the first applications of the nutritional products.
• Plantation: Planting will be always carried out with the guarantee that no frosts are expected. The optimum planting temperatures are between 7 and 30 ºC. To do this, the own topsoil inside the hole must be used. With the soil, we will fill in the hole leaving a pool around the trunk for future watering.

Once the olive tree is planted, it must be watered, regardless of whether the soil is wet or not. A first copious watering at planting time is required, to ensure that the water reaches the entire profile of the rootball. This is essential to avoid dehydration of the olive tree.
